CLIENT: STATE WATER
EXPERTISE: PUBLIC RELATIONS; COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT; ADVERTISING AND DESIGN
Creating the world’s most efficient natural river system is not a bad claim-to-fame in any one’s language. Water for Rivers has created this precise opportunity with the introduction of Computer Aided River Management (CARM) to the 2600km Murrumbidgee River System. Water for Rivers takes a uniquely whole-of-valley approach to its projects, with engagement with the many communities in its jurisdiction one of its highest priorities. This is where Primary came in. Through its seven person, locally-based, community liaison team, Primary engaged with some 800 river pumpers along the Murrumbidgee and key local communities. Using our online Engagement Management Centre our liaison officers were able to record interactions and deal with issues in real-time, giving an unsurpassed level of ‘control’ for this project and ‘killing distance’ as a factor that confounds many projects in rural and regional Australia. Combine this engagement with communications tailored to each audiences and Water for Rivers has a project that is well on the way to making the Murrumbidgee work better for everyone.
